You would never know that this beautiful bell was originally attached to a 1949 Holton made in Elkhorn Wisconsin; serial number 198935. It has been delacquered, cleaned, and fitted with an Alexander ring. There are 7 artistic waves appliqued around the perimeter ring of the bell. The wave design was inspired by the awesome woodblock print by the great Japanese artist Hokusai, known as The Great Wave off Kanagawa. The waves are made out Nickel Silver, Yellow Brass, and Copper, all 0.012" thickness.
The bell with Alexander ring weighed 410g before the wave applique. It weighs 487g after the waves were applied. The bell plays well and looks beautiful.
