Here is a vintage bell, cleaned and customized with 15 f-hole style cut-outs. You can fit in with your fiddling friends or find a new way to appeal to string sections.
This bell was obtained from an Elkhorn (division of Getzen) horn. Its serial number was 105754, which dates it to around 1958. It has been delacquered, fitted with an Alexander bell ring, cleaned and brought to a light brushed finish--it is not polished.
Original mass with bell ring = 522g; current mass after customization = 510g.
