This is an Olds Ambassador lead pipe, unknown vintage. The brass is sound, and has numerous shallow dents as can be seen in the pictures.
The initial condition had lacquer loss, numerous shallow dents and heavy patina on the player facing side of the lead pipe. The horn facing side had intact lacquer and was dent free. Most of the shallow dents within the first 12-in from the mouthpiece receiver can be felt running your finger over the pipe. The dents are highlighted as the dark spots after the lead pipe was cleaned and lightly polished. Those dark spots can be removed completely with additional polish.
