This bell flare was made out of a vintage Olds Ambassador bell. The serial number was 561300, which dates this bell to 1966. The bell has been delacquered, cleaned and brought to a light brushed finish (it is not polished), fitted with an Alexander Bell ring, and then customized with the pinwheel style cut-outs.
Original mass with bell ring = 437g; current mass after customization = 401g.
bell height: 5-3/16 inches
bell throat inner diameter: 2-29/32 inches (I consider this large, and it fits Conn 8D and similar large horns best)
